Okay But Seriously My New Commute is Notorious

As many of you know, I'm moving out of my apartment this week and I couldn't be more thrilled!! I love the townhome, I love having a garage and more space, I love the neighborhood, I love the park outside, I love the mountain view and I love the bike trails.

The only drawback is that now I'll have a real commute.

And not just any commute.

"The worst freeway in the country" commute.

Okay, sure. Everyone thinks theirs is the worst.

But check this out. L.A. made the list four times, and guess which one is mine?

I work slightly off-peak hours (11-7) and won't experience the 405 at its most insane (HOPEFULLY), so that's cool. Once I get my new library card I'll pick up a bunch of books on CD and try to make the most of it. Wish me luck...

  1. Ugh. I've commuted in Orlando and DC and don't miss those hours on the road. Listen to books on CD and NPR! That's what kept me going.

And hope you settle quickly. Congrats on the new home!

  2. Oh you poor thing. I hate bad commutes.

I used to drive 40+ minutes to work everyday between Tampa and Orlando, and now I complain about my 15 drive. I just hate traffic. I have to worst road rage ever and have been known to scream at idiots in front of me (or beside me, anywhere in m y general vicinity really)

But YAY on finally moving into the townhouse!

  3. Caroline: Thanks so much, and yes! NPR shall be my constant companion :)

    Megan: Yay indeed! :)
How'd you spend the 40 minutes? Radio or books? I hear you about the road rage. I don't mind driving far as long as traffic is moving. It's the parking lots that annoy me.

  4. Sarah--Be safe...don't text or talk on your cell. Do you have a specific cd that makes you feel more creative? (Mine is ROOTS, by Flo Rida.) I listen to it when I need to find my muse or on road trips with my daughter who turns into my secretary as I spit out ideas. Enjoy your new home. :-)
